U=U: Not Without Women
ICWNA believes that U=U is a powerful message that is changing the lives of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS around the world. While it has been very positive for many, U=U still falls short of acknowledging many of the structural barriers women have to undetectability based on their gender alone. ICWNA’s U=U: Don’t Forget Women campaign is a call to action for the HIV movement to use science and research to better understand the impacts of being undetectable in women’s bodies in relation to their access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, body autonomy, pregnancy, and breast/chestfeeding. We call for women led quantitative, qualitative and community-based research and advocacy to ensure that our stories and experiences are included in the U=U dialogue.
