Monisola is bringing her Community, Professional and Board experience of over 8 years from both Nigeria and Canada to ICWNA. As a woman living with HIV, she has diligently severed on several HIV related community and advisory boards, to ensure that women living with HIV are meaningfully engaged, and their health positively impacted through holistic and comprehensive approaches. Monisola believes service is about trusting and productive relationships and leadership.
Most notably, Monisola was a board member for the International Community of Women Living with HIV – West Africa; she provided strategic direction and led the strengthening of community level systems for ever increasing ART demand; she also held federal and civil society leadership accountable for equitable delivery of comprehensive HIV programming and addressing human rights violations that were barriers to access of HIV & TB services. Her biggest source of pride was ensuring the capacity building of networks of women living with or affected by HIV and other comorbidities.
Her experience and knowledge gained through the development of relationships with community, civil society and funders has strengthened her ability to evaluate policies and programs for Women Living with HIV/AIDS organizations and ensure effective and efficient provision of board member services for ICWNA.
“I have always been excited serving on several boards representing people living with HIV. My passion has been impacting the life’s of PLWHIV positively especially being the voice for the voiceless. I believe I am joining the team to move ICWNA to the next level. A greater level.”
